Come With Me

Come with me
As we flee
To the open wind.
Take my hand,
Take my land,
I simply want your heart.
I don’t want jewels,
I just want fools
To be made of you and me.
Give me love,
We’ll stand above
The others that we see.

Come with me
And we will be
As happy as we can.
Come with me
As we flee
The laws of the land.
We won’t love
Because we love,
We’ll love because of Christ.
We won’t be
Just you and me,
But you and me in Christ.

Come with me
As we flee,
Take my hand
And all my land,
Your wish is my command.

I love the simplicity of this poem. No big words, little rhymes, it just makes it very simple and lovely. Beautiful.

Goodbye? Oh no, please. Can’t we just go back to page one and start all over again?” – Winnie The Pooh

Thank you!
I honestly wasn't sure that this one turned out too good, because this is my first romantic type poem and I wasn't sure it was any good, so I'm glad you liked it. :)

See him with his books:
Tree beside the brooks,
Drinking at the root
Till the branch bear fruit.
See him with his pen:
Written line, and then,
Better thought preferred,
Deep from in the Word.

This is a lovely love poem! Sounds like something by Christopher Marlowe! Great job!

Sarah Bethany-
I'm glad you liked that. :)
Honestly, that rhyme was more of a random "What rhymes with hand?" moment. I liked the line "Take my hand", but wasn't sure what to rhyme it with. Then I came up with "take my land" and couldn't come up with anything else, but I kind of thought that the rhyming there was a little off. So basically, thank you. :)

I'm with Maddi and Kass here. So simple, but effective. I love the innocence this has, and the beauty about it, too. Just really, really lovely.

Because we love,
We’ll love because of Christ.
We won’t be
Just you and me,
But you and me in Christ.

My favorite bit.
