Some poetry

I've been reading a lot of poetry lately, so I figured I'd give it a try. Here are the results--let me know what you think! :)

  16. The Writer's Wrath   Paper crinkling up inside itself Smudging the ink Abandoning those misfit words Refusing to echo in your mind.   17. Held   Bare walls creeping up on you Snaking their way into the naked light Silence follows the loudest noise The ripple of purple fabric Wanting to blow away.   18. You   Heat brushes my ticklish core Electric volts shooting my veins Finger my neck, brush back my hair Clap a hand over my giggling mouth.   19. Missing My Grandma   Sharpest reflections Sweetest clarity that I wish I still had Shades of gray have clouded my memories Where you used to stand, still beautiful, still proud Faces have blurred into black And you, my friend, are the blackest of all.

19 was my favorite, even though it was the saddest. I think it was best executed as well as being poignant.

I have hated the words and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right. --The Book Thief
