Night Watch Again (written in second person!!!)

Author's Note: I found out about second person from reading Writing Magic by Gail Carson Levine (BTW, anybody should definitely read it!) It's a very interesting point of view. Oh yeah, and sorry it's so short! First attempt at second person =D Hope y'all like it!

“Night watch again,” you sigh to yourself. You are on a cattle drive in rural Nevada, keeping an eye out for predators who might raid the camp while the cattle men are sleeping. You mount your little gray cattle pony, Moon. Moon tugs eagerly at the reins and prances in place. “Moon, calm down. What’s up with you?” you say, surprised. Your reliable little pony doesn’t usually behave this way.
Moon replies with a sharp toss of his head, taking the leather reins out of your hands. And he takes off at a full gallop. You scream and frantically grab for the reins, but they have already fallen. So instead you grab the saddle horn. You scream again but you can’t hear yourself over the pounding hooves of your pony. You hear more hooves. Your neck is stiff as you try to turn your head to look behind you. There is a horse, a beautiful, beautiful black horse. You can barely see him except for his white star on his forehead. You gasp, taking in a large gulp of ice cold air.
Your eyes follow the horse as he catches up and runs in stride with Moon. Your eyes begin to water and the wind whips your face, but the black horse is so close that you can feel his body warmth on your leg.
The horses slow to a lope, then a trot, then a walk, and then a stop. Your body is shaking, but you cannot help but smile as you see the black horse arch his neck and do a high-kneed prance. Under the moonlight you see the horse’s muscles rippling and his nostrils flaring. You admire this as you dismount. You sigh with relief as you feel the ground under you. Moon stands beside you and nuzzles you affectionately. You laugh quietly at the pony’s innocence. Staying on the other side of your horse, you watch the black mustang play. He tosses his head, clearly illustrating “Play with me!”
He drops to the ground and groans. For a moment you wonder if he is alright, but he is merely rolling! You laugh at this. What must be the most gorgeous creature you have ever seen is dropping to the ground and rolling like a giant dog!
The horse rises back up and shakes his muscular body free of dust. Then, he gallops away, kicking up his heels. You watch him as he leaves, until he is completely gone.
You turn to Moon and mount. “No more wild rides, Moon,” you tell the pony jokingly. Moon nickers softly to the direction that the black horse went, but then follows your direction to the long ride back to camp.
