The Place I Call Home

Home sweet home is just down the road
Just a skip and a hop
Or a stones throw away
Where the chickadees sing
And the roadrunners run free
And the children shout gleefully at play
This road that I'm on can often feel long
And it's spaces feel cold and gray
But honestly
There's no place for me
No neighborhood I'd rather stay
Because for better or worse this house I'll not curse
And this family I'll claim with pride
As I walk down this road so long with stride bold
And thank God for this place I call home

I really really really REALLY like this! No...forget it.
I LOVE this!!!
This is so sweet and playful and homelike and it appeals to me so much! Very nice.

I like the sweet simplicity of this, how it doesn't try to turn into a big philosophical ordeal, it just states a sweet truth and leaves it at that. It makes it more powerful.

Brother: Your character should drive a motorcycle.
Me: He can't. He's in the wilderness.
Brother: Then make it a four-wheel-drive motorcycle!

First of all - YOU LIVE WITH ROADRUNNERS. (My only exposure is the cartoon.) That was one of my favorite moments because it tied a concrete image with your lovely ideas. I hope you share this with your family- what a gift. And also, I hope you're doing so so well!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year's!
