I watch the ebb and flow
Blue rushing to meet deep green
Sand tickled by frothy white
This is the charm of the sea
Consistent in its constant change
It sparkles darkly at its depths
Deeper than my mind can fathom
Reaching past my old regrets
Yet in its solemnity there is joy
Like when the sun finally breaks
And spreads its light across the surface
Spreading, too, across my face
The shallows rush and play with glee
Teasing sandy shores with pearls
Where wisdom stores itself around
Waiting in its beauty, unfurled
These are the lessons I seek to teach
And learn from nature, constantly
For knowledge rests, yes, at the beach
And this is why the ocean calls me

YOU CAPTURE THE BEACH FEELING PERFECTLY
I JUST
I CAN’T
IT IS ASTOUNDING
Haha but for real, no joke, just reading this made that feeling just wash over me like the tide and ah! it was beautiful. It made me so happy. Particularly the stanza,
“Yet in its solemnity there is joy
Like when the sun finally breaks
And spreads its light across the surface
Spreading, too, across my face”
Like. Wow. Absolute perfection. Such ravenous joy.
I can’t express how deeply I love this poem it’s just perfect and I love it <333
