I
Every time I see you
I hang my head in shame
For all the selfish seasons
The times I was to blame
But you look back with love
A picture drawn of grace
Your friendship given freely
A smile on your face
Charity suffers long
The scriptures say; it's true
Charity is faithful
It's been lived out in you
II
A blessing I ask on friends so dear
When I need them they are near
To join in laughter or dry a tear
I know they will be here
Adventures shared and stories told
Of days gone by, friends brave and bold
Treasures cannot be bought or sold
Our memories never grow old
I thank God for close-knit hearts
A bonded love formed from the start
Not made of conversational art
May we never be torn apart

Thank you, Homey! That first one was actually written for a particular friend who is all of that and more. :)
Thanks again! I'm so glad that my writing is improving. I really owe it to all of y'all here on ApricotPie. :) God bless!

These are very lovely, and have a nice rhythm. Your poetry writing has improved! I think the first one is particularly good; you have some lines that I just adore. A picture drawn of grace is probably my favorite line from the two poems; it's very elegant wording. Great job--you have strong theme, rhythm, and execution!
