Days of Grace

Days of pain count as days of grace
Days of joy can do an about-face
If we do not watch ourselves and learn
Our strength is not something that you earn
It's given to us, for fear to flee
In my days of pain I've come to see
That a weak body can hold much strength
If only you'll look above, at length
You'll find a day of grace for you
If you trust His word, holy and true
You'll know the blessing of silent tears
Given in moments of pain and fears
There are worse stories; you can compare
Don't wallow in self-pity, beware
For Christ suffered all in place of me
Suffered God's wrath so I could be free
What greater pain could one suffer through?
That man should complain is wrong, true
Christ complained not when hung on the tree
In power rose again on day three
My message is simple, see, it's this
Your pain someday is traded for bliss
Look at grace that is given in love
Pain will be gone when you look above
Your own bodily discomfort too
So look up! see grace given to you
Go on in peace to watch and to wait
As your discomfort fades and abates

So, I tried this with more punctuation and I really didn't like the flow it gave. It messed with the rhythm in my head. So I took it out and liked it much better but that could be just me. :) so please share if you have any critiques! Thanks for reading. :)

I love the message you gave through this!!! It's powerful and real and something that I've been trying to figure out in my head. I know a couple people who need to hear this. Thank you for posting!
As for flow, I feel like it got better as it continued, though there were certain words that sort of threw off the beat in my head (about-face and bodily being the key words with, what felt to me, and awkward syllable count). Of course, I read it in my head and I'm tired after a long day at work so I may be completely off ;) I absolutely LOVE the message. It hit me where it mattered. Well done!

When I worship, I would rather my heart be without words than my words be without heart.

Thank you so much. :) I'm glad you found it encouraging.
Yes, I get what you mean about tripping over those words. :) I'll take a look and see what I can do without changing the message.
Thanks again! I always love your comments.
