A “new” mother smiles upon her tiny child
As she rocks him in her arms.
A “not-so-new” mother rubs her son’s hair
After receiving an A+ report card.
An “old” mother hugs her grown-up daughter
As she watches her grandchildren.
And another mother strews flowers
Upon the grave of her grandmother.
A new generation of loving mothers
Appears every year.
Tending and watching over their children
With as much love as their own mother.
Everyone may not have a sister or brother
And everyone may not have a friend.
But you may be sure that everyone
Has both father AND mother.
This is to those mothers who love,
This is to those mothers who care.
And this is also to those mothers
Who have no concern for their children.
With this small poem, I pray for all mothers,
Those who care and those who don’t.
I pray they will all feel the same affection
For their each and every precious child.
I know I just posted something not so long ago, but I wanted to share this mother's day poem because I feel that all mothers deserve something like this.
