Sitting all alone on the edge of the wood was a small creature. Nothing you would find normal in the middle of Ohio. Its fur was a dirty black, specked with the smallest hint of white. Eyes, wider than any normal animals, were a very pure, clear blue. Its nose was white as were the wings that graced its back. It raised its head, which until this moment had been lowered to the ground, searching for something lost. A rustle was heard coming from the woods. Scared it started to run for cover but, a large black hand scooped it up. The hand was connected to a tall black figure. You could smell the evil that surrounded his body.
"Hmmmm...", he growled, "What have we here?"
The small creature whimpered. "P-p-lease, I was just-"
"Working?", the black figure asked, "For the King I suppose? And that stupid boy prince eh? Well, I am afraid they will have no use for you if you are dead."
The figure raised his empty hand, there was a great flash and a second later there was a small, slim blade. It glinted in the sun as it moved to strike. Moments later a limp, bloodstained creature fell to the ground, silent.
ELSEWHERE.....
Amy sighed. "They definently shouldn't make maps so hard to read!", she muttered to herself. She was trying to find the quickest way home from school so she wouldn't be late to her swim meet. All she could come up with was the almost completely unused road that ran through Beyond woods. Yep, Beyond woods, she really couldn't see who would pick that name for anything. It just didn't make sense.
She looked up when she felt someone bump into the kitchen table, where she was sitting. Matt, her best friend grinned down at her.
"Ready to go?" he asked.
"Where?"
"Duh, to the Star Wars convention!", he said rolling his eyes.
Oh, no wonder he resembled a cross between a Jedi and Chewbaccah. She frowned slightly before replying, "Sure...but, I think we should take a new way home."
Matt shrugged, "Okay, as long as you don't get me lost...and as long as I can stop by the store, mom said I could make some Fewd tonight!"
Amy laughed, "Alright, the road should go right near the store. All we will have to do is cut through the woods."
