The Tear

Submitted by Bernadette on Mon, 04/20/2009 - 17:17

A golden droplet,
Or perhaps silver,
Swelling up,
And falling out.

It curves over,
Every line,
Through the midst of pain,
Or the wonder.

Glinting in the light,
Or glowing in darkness,
Still rolling over,
A shadowed face.

I see you cry,
And mourning still,
And from your eye,
Comes the tear.

I'm lost. I've gone to look for myself. If I should return before I get back, please tell me to wait.

I have hated the words and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right. --The Book Thief

Floating, lyrical, lovely. And sad! I like sad poems. Gorgeous.

"I always wonder why birds stay in the same place when they can fly anywhere on the earth. Then I ask myself the same question." - Harun Yahya

Wow. Bernadette, this is beautiful.

"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve." -Bilbo Baggins [The Lord of the Rings]

Hmm. I like it. It is kind of sad, but also vague, so, it's hard to form a particular emotion on it....except that I like it. Good, good, good, good.

"...And I'm Lukas, his evil spawn." my brother introducing himself, after my dad.

This was soooo lovely!!! Beautiful!!!!! Your imagery is very well done!

"Out of doubt, out of dark to the day's rising,
I came singing in the sun, sword unsheathing.
To hope's end I rode and to heart's breaking:
Now for wrath, now for ruin and a red nightfall!"

Beautiful! And... soft. Yes, that's the word. I love it. ;)
