The Case of the Lost Book
I was in the hallway, when I saw my two younger brothers rush out of the bathroom. Matthew ran into his bedroom which was right across from the bathroom, and locked the door. Since I couldn't ask Matt what was going on,I decided to ask James. He said that Matt had taken his book. The and there I decided I was going to find that book of his. After a couple of minutes,Matt came out. He told me I'd better not go into his room. He locked his door and went off. Iran into my parents room, took out a wire coat hangar from their closet, and straightened out the hook part. Then I went up to Matt's door, stuck the straight in of the hangar into hole in the knob. I pushed the hangar, and felt it push a button in. The door was unlocked. Shutting and locking the door behind me, I began my search for the lost book. I looked in drawers. I looked under and behind things, but found nothing. Maybe James had been lying. But I didn't think so. He usually didn't lie. Finally, I gave up. I would look later, at a more convenient time. Right now I had school. I walked out into the hallway, and who do was there but Matthew? Of course he had seen me come out, and got mad at me and told me never to go in there again, but I wasn't just going to give up that easy. As Matt and I washed dishes later, I asked him what the book he had taken was called and why he had taken. Of course a detective has to knew these things. They are very important. He said it was his book, and was called "My Book" But of course I knew that was untrue. Naturally. I was a detective, and detectives are smart. That's just what I was. But, unfortunately no amount of asking would get him to reveal the name of the story. Which, of course, practically proves it was not his book. And I could not ask James, as he was only three. Matt was nine. Later that day, as Matt was away from the house, I decided now the was the best time to look for James book. I went to his room, and, there lay Felicity on his bed, reading. I couldn't have her in there, because Matt might get home before I had found the book, and tell him on me. I didn't want that. It took me a few minutes, but I finally got her out. I went out too, like I was going to stay out. But instead, as soon as I was around the corner, I flattened myself against the wall just in time to see Felicity go into her room. Now I could continue my search. Detectives have to be smart, quick, and sly. I was just that. I went in, and looked in places I had looked in before, and places I hadn't. Finally, I found it. It was on the bookshelf. There had been books in front of it, and it was between several books. The Case of the Lost Book was solved. "Martha plays along" was the name of the book. I walked out of the room, locking the door behind me. I didn't want Matthew to suspect I had found the book, or even that I had been searching for it. He had told me never to go in there again, as you remember. Then I walked off to James, and gave his once lost book. He was happy to have his book again.
THE END
And this, my dear friends, was a true story in which I, yours truly, solved this case, like the genus I am :D

I've always been one for reading mysteries (as evident to my obscure knowledge of Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys books), and this was definitely an excellently written one! Seeing as you actually solved this case, I applaud you for your persistence and I hope that your brother is thankful you recovered his book for him!
