I often wonder at how blind people can be to the truth. How they try to explain away acts of God as merely coincidences. Take Jesus, for example. Often people try to say that He was just a "good teacher." And yet He claimed to be God. John 10:30 "I and the Father are one." Let's look at that. There are three possibilities. 1) Jesus claimed to be God while He knew the whole time that He was not. That makes Him a liar. Hardly a "good teacher." 2) He honestly believed that He was God, even though He wasn't. That makes Him a loony. Also not such a great teacher. Or, my personal favorite, 3) He was telling the truth. That makes Him more than a "good teacher." That makes Him Lord.

We can also consider the resurection. Some people try to say that He wasn't really dead, just very gravely wounded, no pun intended, and it took Him three days to recover. I'm sorry, but professional soldiers speared Him through the side before they pulled Him off the cross. It was their job to know "dead" when they saw it. Also, it took time to prepare Him for burial. If He had been alive at the time, someone would have noticed His breathing. If, by some unlikely chance, He was alive when the put Him in the tomb and nobody noticed, the burial cloths would have suffocated Him long before three days were up. The only answer that makes sense is the one in the Bible.

Some people also try to say that the whole resurection was a hoax put on by the apostles. The Pharisees would have loved to let people believe that. All they had to do to squash Christianity once and for all was produce a body. But they couldn't do it. They couldn't produce a body because It was walking around. Christ is risen.

Some non-Christians have studied the way the world works and have noticed its intricate balance. They have noticed all the tiny little details that all have to work together in order for life to exist on planet Earth. They even came to the conclusion that it could not have happened by chance, as Evolution insists. They saw the Heavens declaring the glory of God, and yet, instead of coming to the natural conclusion that there is a Creator, they chose to believe that the earth is alive. That the whole planet is some sort of living creature. How could they come so far, and then miss the obvious? How could they look at the beautiful complexity of nature and not see the hand of Almighty God at work?

I could go on and on about how nature points to a Creator, but I won't right now. This is long enough as it is. I am constantly amazed by what people choose to believe as they try to explain away God. To paraphrase Woody from Toy Story, "They are sad, strange little men. They have my pity."
