home

home is a hard thing
to find
a soft place
to fall into
a dream
like a cloud in the sky
white on blue
where the sun shines through
to my heart
as it winds its way
over the landscape
of this sojourn
unwinds its strings
seventy times seven
moves on again
driven to a
home, a safe place
to land
a promise
of belonging
to give you a name
and a strength at your back
like the wind
on the mountaintop
drives you until
you fall into that place
and the hole is filled up
with the sun
reflects back on the water
reechoing hope
through the valley of tears
reconnecting the years
you have seen
the unknown
stretch before you
you grow
every time you go away
coming around again
you never fail to find
the place unchanged
and all brand-new
'cause you're not the same
as the person it left behind
when you left to find a
home

Aisling,

Once again, a great piece of art. I enjoyed how you stayed away from cliches in your portrayal of the concept of Home. I heard your voice loud and clear. This was very refreshing to read. Thank you.

Thank you for such a beautiful and refreshing read! I agree with the commenter above completely-un-cliched and fantastic!
